How would you explain your business to someone who has no knowledge of it?

Blue Crystal looks after landlord’s properties and blocks of flats. We work closely with landlords being the only point of contact for the tenants. Our landlords care about their property and to keep their property in good condition.

How long have you been in this business? And in other businesses?

12 years.

Why did you choose it?

Property is my passion, I grew up in a family of developers and landlords who owned a property portfolio. Property has become a part of my life, it is in my blood. I developed a property in the past and also worked as an estate agent for many years. This led me to set up Blue Crystal Property Management.

How did you get started?

A friend of mine suggested I set up Blue Crystal over dinner. I was looking to go into business and was looking at my options. It felt right and Blue Crystal was born.

How do you attract your clients?

Through word of mouth and providing an excellent service.

Can you describe your customers?

Affluent individuals who care about their properties.

Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years?

Blue Crystal is growing at a rapid speed. We will be covering different aspects of the property market and have employees,  will be doubling its turnover. in 5 years it will have employees.

Which things make you happy as a small business owner?

A satisfied client and solving complicated issues with ease.

Which is your best-selling product or service and why do you think your clients love it so much?

Our clients love Blue Crystal as they realise Blue Crystal Property Management is reliable and there is consistency.

Why do your customers select you over your competitors?

We provide a high-end service.

Customer Retention: how do you keep your customers happy?

By communication and delivering what clients expected and beyond. We still work with every single client that has ever instructed us.

Which challenges did and do you face, running your business?

It has been a constant learning process….every client is different and communicates differently and has different expectations. We have learnt to adjust ourselves accordingly.

Is there any business lesson you learnt through experience that you wish you knew about earlier in life?

There is a lot…..I think every business owner is constantly learning and growing. That’s the only option. I am more processed oriented when it comes to dealing with property.

How do you maintain a good work-life balance?

Having a family-work life balance has been tough at times, it has been hard for me to stay away from my phone and emails.

It helps to get involved in activities you can have your phone with you i.e swimming, yoga, Pilates etc. I realise what can wait for tomorrow, does not need to be dealt within family time. Work-life balance is important to keep a sharp state of mind and to stay healthy.

Which is your best strategy for time management?

Focus on one thing at a time and work towards accomplishing as many tasks as possible during the day.
